He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry (Billy) and Annie Christine Rigsby Burgess; his son Robert Burgess (Lee); his sister Teresa Bynum; and his grandparents, Henry, Janibelle Burgess, Willie and Mary Rigsby.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Holton Burgess; his son William Ralph Burgess of Pelham; his siblings, Ricky E. Burgess of Eatonton, GA, Bimbo Burgess (Sharon) of Lake Seminole, GA and Libby Buckner (Arnold) of Pelham; his grandchildren, Alexis Elkins (Luke) of Pelham and Destiny Burgess (James Brown) of Pelham; and his great grandchildren, Cadence Brown, Maston Brown and Maeleigh Elkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home (176 Hand Ave W, Pelham, GA 31779). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at the Cool Springs Church (2829 GA Highway 270 W., GA-270, Sale City, GA 31784).
