He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellie Austin Mercer and Estelle Motley Mercer; his spouse Macel Daniels Mercer; and his siblings, Bill Mercer, James Mercer and Nellie Mercer.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Roberts (Joey) of Norman Park, Judy Lane (Joey) of Thomasville, Kay Lodge (John) of Thomasville, David Mike Mercer (Elizabeth) of Erie, PA, Randall Mercer (Melissa) of Pelham and Darryl Mercer of Pelham; and his brother Jack Mercer of Fairhope, AL. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
