He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Lonzo Brooks and Fannie Bell Harrell Brooks; and his siblings, Carolyn Brooks, Sara Green, Elliott Brooks and Gene Brooks.

He is survived by: his nephews, Craig Brooks, Kevin Brooks, Gerald Brooks and Robin Brooks; his brothers, Roland Brooks of Pelham and Wayne Brooks (Gail) of Pelham; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Brooks of Pelham.
