He was predeceased by: his parents, Tolbert Hansel, Sr. and Lillian Layton Godwin; and his sisters, Bonnie Williamson, Cleo Ferrell, Dollie Edwards and Lorene Crumley.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffery Godwin (Mandy) of Pelham and Greta Harrison (Ron) of Cairo; his grandchildren, Brice Edwards (Bailey) of Cairo, Cody Godwin (Leea) of Pelham, Cole Harrison (Alanah) of Cairo, Zach Harrison (Logan) of Cairo, Ethan Godwin of Pelham and Shaylan Godwin of Pelham; his great grandchildren, Berklin Edwards, Beckham Edwards, Brix Edwards, Tucker Godwin, Carter Harrison and Tate Harrison; his sister Carolyn Godwin Brooks; and his brothers-in-law, Ladon Sellers (Debra), Rodney Sellers (Kelly), Marlon Sellers (PJ) and Harold Sellers (Debra). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home (176 Hand Ave W, Pelham, GA 31779). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mizpah Church (189 Mizpah Rd, Pelham, GA 31779). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Mizpah Church Cemetery (189 Mizpah Rd, Pelham, GA 31779).
