He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Fussell and Cora Carver Fussell; his son Jody Fussell; and his siblings, Rufus Patton, E. J. Fussell, Lemmie Merritt, Ann Castleberry, Dorothy Holland and Athalene Scott.

He is survived by: his son Kevin Fussell of Douglas; and his daughter-in-law Marissa Fussell of Pearson.
