He is survived by: his wife Margaret Guthrie Smith; his stepson Andy Harper (Teresa) of Pearson, Georgia; his daughter-in-law Paula Harper of Douglas, Georgia; his sister Charlene Foster (Steve); his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Smith of Fitzgerald, Janice Smith of Fitzgerald, Margaret Ring of Ocilla and Latrelle Dickens of Canton, Georgia; his grandchildren, Tanner Harper, Bailey Harper, Walker Harper, Haley Varnell (Tommy), Hatch Harper, Kevin Rich, Landon Hutchinson (Akela) and Taylor Garrell; his great grandchildren, Cohen Hutchinson and Amelia Garrell; his niece Regina Smith; and his close friends, D. Q. Pittman of Pearson, Eddie Cribb of Pearson and Rudolph Merritt of Broxton, Georgia..
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel (305 W Ward St, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Calvary Holiness Campground (10749 US-441, Broxton, GA 31519). A burial was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at the New Corinth Cemetery (1802 Broxton Hwy, Wray, GA 31798).
