He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Julius Oerting and Gladys Crawford Oerting; his wife Mary Bernadette Sciple Oerting; and his son-in-law Greg Stallings. He is survived by: his children, Julie Stallings of Williamson, GA, Patty Gargulinski (Tom) of Hazel Green, AL, Cindy Oerting of Newnan, GA, Cathy Summers (Steve) of Marietta, GA and Dan Oerting (Cherie) of Marietta, GA; his grandchildren, Chris, Tony Gargulinski, Josh and Emily Summers; and his siblings, Franklyn Oerting (Lyn) and Dianne Fairchild (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
