He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Gilbert and Hilda Sheffield Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Constance Deems Gilbert; his children, Jerry M. Gilbert, Jr. (Shannon) of Pavo and Holly Brazel (Sean) of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Morgan Terry Gilbert, Courtney Lowry Gilbert, Jacob Monroe Brazel, Grant Christopher Brazel and Zander Matthew Erway; and his sister Annie Cecilia Askew (David Askew) of Colquitt.
