Gene Butler Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene Butler of Pavo, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 28, 2025 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gene Butler to pay them a last tribute.
As Gene departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gene may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gene leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Lanier Butler and Alice Mitchell Butler; and his wife Modene Beaty Butler. He is survived by: his daughters, Marcy Williford (Warren) of Hahira, GA and Brandie Hester (Brad) of Newnan, GA; his granddaughter Madeline Salome (Angel) of Mableton, GA; his sister Marty Pohlman (Rodney) of Pavo, GA; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Isom (Clyde) of Moultrie, GA and Winston Beaty of Barwick, GA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Barwick Baptist Church (2034 S Massey St, Barwick, GA 31720). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Rosewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make donations to Rosewood Cemetery, P. O. Box 91, Barwick, GA 31720, in memory of Mr. Butler.
