It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie Griffith of Pavo, Georgia, who passed away on February 20, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius Murray and Rosa Sparrow; her husband Emory Griffith of Pavo; her siblings, Mozella Wiggins and Willie James Wilson; and her children, Pansy O. Griffith, Emory James Griffith and Daniel Griffith.
She is survived by: her children, Nelson Griffith, Gregory Griffith (Miriam), Linda I. Baker and Ruby F. A. Baker; her nephew Willie James Wiggins (Helen); her great-nephews, Keith and Kevin Wiggins (Carla) of Washington, D. C.; and her cousin Frances Watts. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
