He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Taylor and Annie Lee Strickland Taylor; his wife Nellie Jo "Peggy" Manning Taylor; his son-in-law John R. Griffis; his sister Irene Telzer-Bain; his siblings-in-law, Biff Telzer and Bill Bain; his siblings, Alene Elizabeth Taylor and Earl J.; and his sister-in-law Helen Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Jan Griffis of Patterson, Pam Walker of Patterson, Debbie Taylor of Jacksonville, James Edward "Bubba" Taylor and Jamie (Tina Taylor); his adoptive son Mike Daniels of Patterson; his grandchildren, Erin Crews, Brent Walker (Haley), DeeAnna Thrift (Bradley), Jeremy Hougland, Mikayla Taylor and Matthew Taylor; his great grandchildren, Carter Mattox, Taylor Thrift and Jase Thrift; and his close friends, Allison Oglesby of Blackshear and Rick Fair of Blackshear. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
