She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome T. Watt and Irene Rahm Watt; her daughter Josette "JoJo" Irene Jernigan Mathy; her daughter-in-law Johnna Jernigan; her siblings, Janet Smith, Judith Watt, Judith Caleca, Jeraldine Hunt and Jerome D. Watt; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Parham, Debra Young and Joe Jernigan.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Robert Leon "Bob" Jernigan of Patterson; her sons, Robert L. Jernigan, III (Christy Lee) of Hoboken and Brandon Jernigan (Angela) of Blackshear; her son-in-law Donald Mathy of Manchester; her sisters, Janice Juell of Phoenix, AZ and Joyce Hoobler (Richard) of Dallas, GA; her grandchildren, Alexander Jernigan, Ashton Jernigan, Abigail Burkett, Micah Jernigan (Katie Kratzer), Joseph Grinstead, Avery Jernigan (Laney), Austin Jernigan (Makayla), Matthew Jernigan, Kameron Anderson (Julia) and Kenyon Anderson (Jade); and her great grandchildren, Waylon Burkett, Annabeth Burkett, Wyatt Burkett and Briar Anderson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Johns Community Church (4363 St Johns Church Rd, Blackshear, GA 31516). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
