He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Jernigan Scott; his son George Jernigan; his grandparents, George and Susie Lucas; and his sister Laura Jernigan.
He is survived by: his children, Charles B. Jernigan, Jr. (Eletia) of Patterson, Tammie Jernigan Stroman of Punta Gorda, FL, Sheldon Jernigan (Tonia) of Lehigh Acres, FL and Alicia Schwandt (Corey) of Washington; the mothers of children, Lula Jernigan of Patterson and Hyacinth Jernigan of Port Charlotte, FL; his siblings, Johnny Jernigan of Philadelphia, Mae Baity of Philadelphia and Linda Morales of Philadelphia; and his close friends, Johnny, Haddie Platt of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Eula Pratt of Chicago, IL, Doris Teasley and S. C.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
