Ronald Joseph Mellendorf II Obituary
Ronald Joseph Mellendorf II was born on October 12th 1982 in Port Huron, Michigan. He lived there until his family moved to Georgia in 1994. He met his wife Rachel in 2003 and were married in 2004. He passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Joseph Mellendorf . He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Rachel Mellendorf and two sons, Joey and Xander and an adopted son TJ; His mother, Peggy Mahaffey and step dad Jerry; his grandmother, Edie Mellendorf; his sister Jolene Mellendorf and his step sister Melissa D'Alessandro.
He had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that will miss him. RJ was the owner and operator of RJ Metal and More. He made an impact on the people he met, whether a friend, employee, or a stranger. RJ was always willing to help out friends or neighbors and would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He loved the outdoors and would spend every moment outside if he could, especially if the weather was nice.
His favorite time of year was fall because it was the start of college football and hunting season. RJ liked staying busy whether it was working, maintaining or creating. He always had tasks to complete and something that kept him busy. He could build or fix nearly everything he touched. He liked working with wood but was also very skilled in using metal.
If he could imagine things in his head he could turn them into a reality. Hunting, fishing, boating, and crafting were some of his favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed collecting a variety of items. He loved spending time with people, usually around a fire with music playing in the background. RJ will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his ability to tell a good story.
He was a loving father to his two boys, he taught them how to become great men and leaders. He will truly be missed! A funeral service will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 4 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Cross and Jonathan Mooney officiating. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 4:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory, 770-964-4800.
