She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Lindy Powell; her parents, Wallace Sims and Josie Sims (Tittle); and her siblings, Cecil Sims, Nellie Atkins, Leo Sims, Jan Hopkins, Sheila Ridge, Quintin Sims and Drennard Sims.
She is survived by: her children, Joan Elaine Powell of Douglasville and Jason Lindy Powell (Gloria) of Chattahoochee Hills; her sisters, Betty Newsom (Doyle) of Paragould and Martha Shipp (Roland) of Jackson's Gap, Alabama.; her grandchildren, Erica Gillis (Jed) of Winter Garden, Joel Powell (Elise) of Senoia, Nathan Powell of Atlanta, Micah Powell (Melissa) of Marietta and Katie Powell of Chattahoochee Hills; and her great grandchildren, Judah, Grant, Ellie, James and Ruby. She is also survived by family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga. 30291 in memory of Mrs. Edith Powell.
