He was predeceased by: his parents, Collier Benson Starnes, Sr. and Frances Louise Caldwell Starnes. He is survived by: his wife Faye Starnes; his children, Monica Starnes Taubitz (Heath), Tiffany Starnes Lengyel (Eddie) and Ashley McWaters of Clover, SC; and his grandsons, Colt Allan Kline and Greyson Taubitz.
