He was predeceased by: his wife June Powell; his son Randy Joe Powell; his parents, William Clifford and Sally Pearl Powell (Winslett); his brother Jesse Powell; and his granddaughter Sandy Garrett.
He is survived by: his children, Ricky (Melanie Powell), Rodney (Judy Powell), David (Cherie Powell), Wallace (Donna Sears), Joyce (Ronald Garrett) and Janie Hudson of Covington, GA; and his sisters, Ruby Boss of Blue Ridge, GA, Carolyn Thompson of Oxford, GA and Joyce Bryant of Loganville, GA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
