It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Armistead of Oxford, Georgia, who passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Whitley and Lessie Whitley; her husband Charles B. Armistead; her daughter Carolyn; her son-in-law Billy Williams; and her granddaughter Timmie Deane Armistead.
She is survived by: her son Charles; her grandchildren, Eatonton, Keith, Wendy Williams of Oxford, Rhonda, Lyle Bailey of Covington, Kevin, Britney Williams of Oxford, Mitch, Liz, Lyndi Brooke, Cory, Ashleigh, Lexie Beth, Peyton, Caleb and Aidan; and her great great grandchild Poppy Doris. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home (2157 East St, Covington, GA 30014). The lying in state was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cornish Mountain Baptist Church (1089 Cornish Mountain Chr Rd, Oxford, GA 30054). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at the Lawnwood Memorial Park (1111 Access Rd, Covington, GA 30014).
