He is survived by: his parents, Larry Gene Mathis and Mary Bennett; his children, Isaiah Smith and Nevaeh Mathis; and his siblings, Markel Nelms, Tiffany Mathis and Gina Nelms. He is also survived by three nieces and four nephews.
