It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy McCarty (Oglethorpe, Georgia), born in Montezuma, Georgia, who passed away on June 23, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Joseph Smith Archdeacon and Sara Coogle Archdeacon Gilmore (Chesley Bartow Gilmore). She is survived by: her husband Mack Stanley McCarty of Oglethorpe, GA; her daughter Laura McCarty; her son-in-law Michael Goldsman of New York, NY; her daughter Lee; her son-in-law Ben Leathers of Athens, GA; her daughter Lezlee; her son-in-law Dan Roach of Americus, GA; and her grandchildren, Coleman Leathers, Bennett Leathers, Sara Mac Roach and William Goldsman. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted and memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion St.-Luke Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 187, Oglethorpe, GA, 31068.
