He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Bell Richardson Battle and Major Battle. He is survived by: his wife Mary Battle; his children, Lanorris Battle of Oglethorpe, Teresa Warren (Robert) of Fort Valley, Major Battle (Tamara) of Atlanta, Tawanda Battle (Robert) of Perry, Georgia, Veronica Walker and Bennie Walker, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Phillip Walker (Georgia) and Gloria Walker of Columbus, Georgia. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, whom he dearly loved; nine great-grandchildren.
