He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Leigh Powell, Sr. and Ruby Dunn Powell; and his siblings, Betty Jo McLeod and Jerry Powell. He is survived by: his wife Fanchone; his children, LeighAn Goodwin (Marty) of Sylvester, Merlan Powell (Ansley) of Savannah and Adan Powell of Oglethorpe; his grandchildren, Hunter Goodwin, Payton Goodwin, Ella Powell, Knox Powell and Henry Powell; and his siblings, Hugh Pierce, Terry Powell (Jacki), Kent Powell (Jane) and Wanda Bastian. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
