He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Poppell and Lois Poppell; and his daughter Lisa Poppell. He is survived by: his son Doug Poppell (Paige) of Greensboro; his granddaughters, Dr. Katie Hollowoa of Little Rock, Ark, Emily Poppell of Dallas and Amanda Poppell of Charleston; and his brother Nathan Elbert Poppell of Odum. He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews.
