He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Poppell and Lois Westberry Poppell; and his siblings, Orvita P. Walsh and Darrell Poppell. He is survived by: his son Roger Ray Poppell of Odum; and his brothers, R. L. Poppell of Odum and Nathan Poppell (Patty) of Odum.
