He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Lee Griffis and Isabelle Thornton Griffis; his former wife Edith Long Griffis; his daughter Pamela Griffis Kinchen; and his siblings, Raymond Griffis, Curtis Griffis, Albert Griffis, Valerie Jones, Vinnie Graham, Ruth Devereaux and Leottie Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Dykes-Griffis of Baxley; his sons, Isaac Matthew "Matt" (Jan Griffis) of Baxley, Timothy Colvin "Tim" (Tammy Griffis) of Baxley, Daniel Andrew "Drew" (Anslee Griffis) of Baxley, Gary (Janet Dykes) of Baxley and Jeff Dykes of Baxley; his sisters, Evon Byrge of Savannah, Lydia Hart (Hubert) of Mineral, VA, Kathyrn Wright (Lonell) of Screven, Roxie Litton of Baxley and Linda Kimbrell (Bob) of Mershon; his grandchildren, Brittany Roberson, Ashley Perry (Jim), Zack Griffis (Aaryn), Gracie Griffis, Brandon Griffis, Ben Griffis, Amanda Love, Katie Wiggins (Jeremy) and Kylie Fields (Jared); and his great grandchildren, Jax Griffis, Colt Wiggins, Case Wiggins, Jaxton Fields and Ember Fields. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
