He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thompson and Lola Ammons Thompson; and his sister Oliff Harrison. He is survived by: his wife Clara Burnette Thompson of Odum; his children, Patricia Blanton (Donald) of Jesup and Chester Thompson, Jr. (Shanda) of Odum; his sisters, Onnie Osborne and Olene Moody Lewis; his grandchildren, Daphne Gest, Chessica O'Banion, Richard Thompson (Nikki), Steve Madray (Monica), Sierra Blanton and Jasper Blanton; his great grandchildren, Clayton Gest, Weston Gest, Chrissie O'Banion, Mariana O'Banion, Erica Osborne, Alexis Osborne and Remington Harris; and his great great grandchild Brailee Gest. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545.
