He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Mozel Sheppard and Corrine Sessions Sheppard; his wife Deryl Hodges Sheppard; and his siblings, Videra Sheppard Frazier, Emory Aldine Sheppard and Francis Earl Sheppard.
He is survived by: his children, Carla S. Hutchings (Chris) of Sandersville, Marshall Wayne Sheppard (Vicki) of Oconee and Benjamin Thomas Sheppard (Starr) of Buckhead; his grandchildren, Andrew Christopher Hutchings (Sara), Stephen Gilmore Hutchings, Tyler Wayne Sheppard and Anna Corrine Sheppard; and his great grandchild David Andrew Hutchings.
