He was predeceased by: his parents, W. C. Wilkes and Esther Hammond Wilkes. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Patterson Wilkes; his children, Rev. Jeff Wilkes (Lauren) of Watkinsville and Michelle Walker (Keith) of Watkinsville; his siblings, Gaynell Fielding of Bogart, Becky Nunnally (Wesley) of Watkinsville and Randy Wilkes (Susan) of Watkinsville; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Elijah, Lincoln, Jade Wilkes and Keigan Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Kidney Fund.
