He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Parrish Tipton and Stella Maynor Tipton; his wife Charlene Reed Tipton; and his siblings, John, Era, Nellie and Lucy.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Tipton (Jean) of Trenton, Georgia, Dennis Tipton (Anga-Lee) of Gainesville and Kim Newell (Gary) of Braselton; his grandchildren, Reed, Ross Tipton, Josh Newell, Regina Shepherd (Todd) and Stephen Tipton (Nikki); and his great grandchildren, Brennan Shepherd (Hannah), Aaron Shepherd (Brooke), Deven, Kyle Tipton and Levi Blake (Nikki).
