He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Bowdoin Ray and Jane Hamilton Ray of Norwood. He is survived by: his wife Diane Blackstock Ray; his children, Jennifer McCluskey (Sean) and Alex Ray (Megan); and his grandchildren, Connor of Richmond, Teagan of Richmond, Lauren McCluskey of Richmond, Anna of Richmond, Alton of Richmond and Taylor Ray of Richmond.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the Norwood Community Church (PO Box 114, Norwood GA, 30821), where Neal was a lifetime member, or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (michaeljfox.org), with any acknowledgement cards sent to Diane Ray at PO Box 98, Norwood GA, 30821.
