He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Hamilton and Nora Roberts Hamilton; his son Daniel Hamilton; and his siblings, Marvin "Buddy" Hamilton, Marie Rowe of Moultrie, Latrelle Wilson of Moultrie and Dot Hamilton of Moultrie.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Bivins Hamilton of Norman Park; his son James Franklin Hamilton, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Michele Davis (Andy) of Monroe, NC; his sisters, Fran Jacobs of Moultrie and Shirley Conger of Moultrie; his grandsons, James Daniel Hamilton (Sarah) of Wingate, NC, Joshua Benson (Sara) of Calhoun, GA and Aaron Davis of Monroe, NC; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Hamilton, Gibson Hamilton and Harleigh Benson.
