Iris Swinson Obituary

NORMAN PARK — Iris Freda Medders Swinson, 72, of Norman Park, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at her residence. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 4, at Indian Creek Cemetery with the Revs. Jimmy Voyles and Julian officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Bell, Kevin Kimbrell, Jack Hall, Jeremy Bell, Chad Pate and John Medders.

Born July 5, 1940, in Sylvester, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Eddie B. Medders and Ollie V. Poole Medders. She was a homemaker and she was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Elmer Swinson; and sisters, Ilene Glover, Wynette Pate and Edna Earl Kimbrell. Survivors include daughters, Sandra Royals of Norman Park, Lisa Rene Tillery and husband Eddie of Norman Park and Priscillia Ward and husband Rodney of Statenville, Ga.; a brother, Eddie Medders and wife Linda of Sylvester, Ga.; brothers-in-law, James Glover of Ty Ty, Ga., Charles Pate of Evergreen, Ga., and Benson Kimbrell of Red Rock, Ga.; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Beck, Jacob Andrew Tillery and wife Alanna, Jessica Nicole Bell and husband Brandon, Caroline Tillery, Kenley Jadin Gay, Lauren Ward and Luke Ward; and great-grandchildren, Jaleigh Beck, Joshua Beck, Ryleigh Tillery and Landon Bell.
