He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret; his daughters, Margot (Alessandro) and Elizabeth (Hoang); and his grandson Edmond.
Known for his outstanding managerial skills and his ability to bring staff and partners together, he made invaluable contributions to many essential public health initiatives, including CDC's response during the early days of the historic AIDS epidemic.
