She is survived by: her son Gary Hires Jr (Merrilea) of Valdosta, GA; her grandchildren, Cameron Ethan Hires, Logan Hires and Alexia Grace Hires; her brother Donald Whitman (Teresa) of Yulee, FL; and her close friend Gary Hires Sr. of Nicholls, GA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
