She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Snipes and Lizzie Chaney Snipes; her husband James Hollis Carelock; her son Gary Carelock; and her siblings, J. L. Snipes, Buddy Snipes, B. F. Snipes, Reba Fowler Paulk, Annie Lou Sheffield, Winnie Crowder and Annie Bell Snipes.

She is survived by: her children, J. J. Carelock of Alma, Ondra Crews (Benny) of Nicholls, Arrowanna McDaniel (Ray) of Waycross and Nova Varnadore (Milton) of Reidsville. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
