He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Hersey and Ardlia Phillip Hersey; and his siblings, J. W. Hersey, Warnie Hersey and Lavene Davidson.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Crosby Hersey of Nicholls; his sons, Tracy Hersey and Michael Hersey (Sandy) of Nicholls; and his sister Agnes Snipes (Billy) of Jacksonville, FL.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
