We bid farewell to Usher Thomas Smith Jr. of Newton, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 24, 2025 at the age of 96. Usher touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Usher Thomas and Vesta Nash Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Eileen; his son-in-law Mike Davis; his son Tommy; his daughter-in-law Pat Smith; his grandchildren, Sherry Whitaker (Royce), Chris Smith, Keith Davis (Shawn), Amy Davis and Lorie Bender (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Avery Davis, Olivia Bender, Alex Bender and Darcie Whitaker. He is also survived by other family members and many close friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home (2157 East St, Covington, GA 30014). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mansfield United Methodist Church (3031 N Main St, Mansfield, GA 30055). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at the Carmel Church Cemetery.
