He was predeceased by: his father William E. Doherty, Sr.; and his sister Mary Elizabeth "Ginger" Doherty Stover. He is survived by: his wife Carole Ann Day Doherty; his sons, Robert Edward Doherty and Mark Patrick Doherty (Kristi) of Newnan; his grandchildren, John Teague, James Teague and Victoria Teague; and his siblings, Kathleen "Cathi" Doherty of Athens and Peter "Pete" Doherty (Kathleen) of Isle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
