He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay Olus and Mary Inglis Gillespie; his brother Rev. Robert C. Gillespie; and his former wife Charlsie Simonds Gillespie Weaver. He is survived by: his wife Susan Johnson Gillespie of Newnan; his children, William'Bill'Gillespie (Peggy) of Dalton, Kenneth Gillespie (Suzanne) of Atlanta and Bonnie Gillespie (Keith) of Santa Monica; his grandchildren, Justin Gillespie (Natasha), Tiffany Gillespie Fox (George) and Jason Gillespie; his great grandchildren, Wayco and Waverlynn Gillespie; his sisters, Jean Hull and Mary Ann Koon (Dick) of Jacksonville; and his siblings-in-law, Sondra Weaver Gillespie of Decatur, June Somers (John) of Hilton Head, SC and Mike Johnson of Hiawassee. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
