He is survived by: his son Ray; his children-in-law, Becky and Craig Powell; his grandchildren, Clifford Strate, Haylie Cribbs and Mallory Barnett; his niece Allena Avery; his aunts, Harriete Wright and Mary Ann Howard; and his significant other Charlotte Schulz.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to the charity of one's choice.
