He was predeceased by: his son Cory Edwards; and his sister Tina Edwards Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Lynn Elrod Edwards; his son Rusty Edwards; his daughter-in-law Leslie Edwards; his grandchildren, Landry, John Henry and Will Edwards; his brother Jackson Edwards; and his siblings-in-law, Sherry Golden and Ronnie Golden.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideons or Newnan First Baptist.
