He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Volz Helms; his children, Paula Helms (Favoritist), Laura Helms Hunter and Martin Volz; his grandsons, Dustin Ray Hunter Jr., Trystin Scott Hunter and Nova Wayne Volz; his sisters, Linda Walden and Brenda Helms Turner (Johnny); his nephew Shane Gann; and his niece Whitney Toth.
