He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Mae Lily Rustin and Robert Glen Rustin; his wife Linda Carlisle Rustin; and his brothers, Ralph Edwin Rustin and Alan Lee Rustin.
He is survived by: his sons, David Rustin Jr. (Pat), John Rustin (Lori) and Andy Rustin (Nancy); his grandchildren, Joshua Rustin, Kristal Blevins, Andrew Rustin Jr., Logan Rustin, Tyler Rustin, Matthew Hannah, Michael Hannah, Kevin Hanner, Tyler Howard and Dustin Howard; and his sister Glenda Avery (Sandy). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
