She was predeceased by: her parents, John Heywood and Clara Russ Benton; her husband Carroll B. Platt, Sr.; and her daughter Sharon Lois Platt. She is survived by: her children, Christina Jane Halstead (Dan) of Newnan, GA, Carroll Barnwell Platt, Jr. of Reston, VA and John Marshall Platt, Sr. (Eileen) of Waynesville, NC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
