She was predeceased by: her parents, Gaut Head and Mitchum Head of Iowa; and her siblings, Junior Head, Bill Head, Marjorie Llewellyn, Bob Head and Eris Hendricks.
She is survived by: her husband Perry Eugene Lester (Gene); her daughters, Selina McClendon, Pam Brockman (Ken) and Gena Evans (Mike); her grandchildren, Jason Wallace, Mitch McClendon (Kimberly), K. P. Brockman (Shelly), Ashley Bell (Marvin), Katie Nash (Eric), Lauren Evans, Wil Abraham (Katy), Faith Pearson (Mike) and Lauren Monda (Conner); and her siblings, Edith Adamson (Gene), Nancy Hill (Sammy) and Jim Head (Sheila). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome, but those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Joan's name may do so to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
