He was predeceased by : his father James Hugh Tate. He is survived by : his mother Patsy Charlotte Hayes Tate; his daughter Allison Hancock; his grandchildren, John Nolan Hancock and Taryn Alivia Hancock; his siblings, Kim Brown (Steve) and Gary C. Tate; his niece Kirsten Brown; and his nephews, Alex Brown and Christopher Tate.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Chapel (1 Bullsboro Dr, Newnan, GA 30263). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (656 Roscoe Rd, Newnan, GA 30263).
