With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Joyce Scott (Newnan, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 15, 2025 at the age of 75. As we bid Betty Joyce farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Betty Joyce is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Mayo and Inez Mayo. She is survived by: her husband Jerry L. Scott; her children, Karen Scott, Jerry Scott, Jr. and Kathy Sempertegui; her grandson Tommy Scott (Kallie); her great grandchild Marleigh Scott; and her siblings, William Mayo and Mildred Dutton.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (5971 Mt Carmel Rd, Gay, GA 30218). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (5971 Mt Carmel Rd, Gay, GA 30218).
