He was predeceased by: his former wife Martha Sue Fields; his parents, J. P. Fields and Mary Whatley Fields; his son Dwayne Edward Fields; his grandsons, Joshua Dennis Fields and Andy Fields; and his brothers, James Fields, Preacher Bobby Fields and David Fields.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Fields; and his sons, Dennis Eugene Fields, Douglas Howard Fields (Tonya), Waymon Glen Fields (Wendy), Andrew Paul Fields (Donna Jean), Brandon Humphrys and Kevin Humphrys (Laura). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
