It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verdell Jordan of Newborn, Georgia, who passed away on July 11, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arcth Shope and Maud Shope; her husband Robert Jordan; and her children, Shirley Dowdy, Evelyn Bennett and O. C. Dowdy.
She is survived by: her children, Marie Blount (Freddie), Larry Dowdy (Mary), Linda Denny (James), Tony Dowdy (Brenda), Shelba Bullard (Puddy), Dale Hilliard (Pete), Troy Dowdy (Nita), Vicky Lester (Mike) and Ronnie Dowdy (Holly); and her brother Fred Shope. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren.
