He is survived by: his wife Cindy Collins Carter; his children, Christen Sherrod (Drew), Cole Carter (Leah) and Caleb Carter; his parents, Marsha Carter and Ashley Carter; his siblings, Shannon Carter (Stephanie) and Angela Jackson; his in-laws, Pat and Kenny Collins; and his sister-in-law Christi Sanders (Dana). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
